XVD Plus Sets the Performance Standard for Video Compression
New PC Software Allows Faster-Than-Real-Time Encoding Free Trial Version
Available from BHA, Demonstrated at CES

Las Vegas, January 08, 2004 - B.H.A Corporation (BHA) announced today at CES (Booth # 13345) the release of XVD plus, the next-generation video compression PC software. XVD™ offers the highest quality user experience possible for playback of video and streaming over IP-based networks. Loaded with advanced features and an easy-to-use graphic interface, XVD Plus is capable of encoding full-D1 resolution video at speeds faster than real-time. The product incorporates advanced XVD codec technology from DigitalStream-USA (DS-USA) and follows the successful release of the XVD Plus Japanese version on October 31, 2003.

XVD plus is actually a suite of software applications that work seamlessly together to encode, edit, record and playback professional quality video:

  • XVD encoder plus offers predefined encoder profiles to greatly simplify encoding for the most typical usages (High Quality, Standard and High Speed), but also provides the flexibility to adjust settings to achieve specific requirements. Advanced features include batch encoding, multi-pass capability, dynamic bit rate control, and a wide selection of filters for video optimization.
  • XVD Editor allows users to organize XVD files, add chapters, delete unwanted sections and save edited files on hard disk or write to a CD or DVD. With XVD Editor, discs can be created that include the XVD player and automatically play when inserted into any Windows PC with no additional software required.
  • XVD Player provides a simple stylistic toolbar interface for navigating through videos, which can be viewed in a pop-up window or full-screen mode.

"XVD Plus establishes a new standard in digital video quality and raw performance," said Masaharu Yoshihara, president and chief executive officer of BHA. "Since October, thousands of users have downloaded and are using the Japanese version. The feedback for the products advanced features and ease-of-use and has been very enthusiastic."

The free trial version of XVD encoder plus is available for download on BHA's corporate website (www.bhacorp.com). The full product version will be available for download later in January.
